Janet sat down with our Tanika Ray to discuss her latest film 'Why Did I Get Married?,' where she told that she can relate to her character because they both give advice. What advice did Janet give Tanika on marriage? Click on the pic below to find out :-)

Janet is talking candidly about marriage with “Extra.” At the premiere for her new film, “Why Did I Get Married,” Janet opened up about her relationship with longtime boyfriend Jermaine Dupri and the possibility of a trip down the aisle. “I don’t need a piece of paper to validate what we have,” Janet said. “That’s just me though.” If she and Dupri did decide to marry, Janet would take his last name. “Of course I would,” she insisted. “Isn’t that crazy? It’d be JD and JD!” As for any marriage advice she has to offer, Jackson laughed, “Don’t ask me that question. You want to ask somebody who’s been married twice and divorced twice?”

Size matters to Janet Jackson, and she has decided to chronicle her yo-yoing weight in a new book. "I’m writing a book on my journey of weight loss and weight gain," Jackson, 41, told PEOPLE at the Hollywood premier of Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married? "[I'm] really coming from the soul with it, and what I was going through at different times in my life and what possibly brought it about for myself," she says of the yet untitled book. She'll also include in the book what she did "nutrition-wise" to slim down "when she needed to," but warns, "It's different for everyone."
